When your container is this pretty, even everyday items garner a certain cachet. “Marbleized papers have always brought about a sense of exoticism for me,” Amanda notes. “The Europeans once called them ‘Turkish papers’ presumably due to a readily available source from Turkey in the 17th and 18th centuries. The marbleizing process soon spread across cultures, from China and India to the continent. European bookbinders used these beautiful swirling designs as end papers to embellish their leather-bound books for centuries.”
Amanda created this original collection of marbleized paper accessories in cheerful swirls of her favorite bright blue to give each useful item a touch old world charm, and a bit of exoticism too!
Ideal for corralling cotton balls in the bath, bits and bobs on a dresser, or small supplies in the office, Amanda Blue Swirl Canister is crafted of handmade 100% recycled cotton paper artfully marbled by hand and lined with a coordinating blue-and-white petite print paper. Lid is crowned with turned antique brass finish knob.
